All believers and churches need to pray more.  I have found that it is effective to do various special times for prayer.  Our church sets aside a Friday night once a quarter for our men to get together and pray.  It is scheduled from 9 PM – 10 PM.  We start right on time and try to end on time also.

The schedule we keep is very simple and casual.  I share about 10 minutes on some aspect of prayer and then have a couple of quick testimonies concerning answered prayer.  Men break up in groups of our and spread all over the auditorium.  Our church supports approximately 130 missionaries and we make sure each is prayed specifically by  name.  Various ministries and special projects are also prayed over.  Within  each group the men pray for specific needs found in that particular group.

This is a great way to increase the prayer time for your men and build on close friendship with them.
