As a pastor in Florida, one learns quickly of “snowbirds” which are our temporary (winter) residents who come to the warm weather of Florida.  I believe as they come here it is our job to reach them with the gospel.  Each year in February we set aside a Sunday morning to specifically welcome the “snowbirds” to BBC.
               
On “Snowbird Sunday” we ask our winter residents to introduce themselves to our church.  Each one is presented a gift such as the John R. Rice book on Heaven.  Over the years we have seen a number trust Christ and become faithful to church.  If you are in a retirement community, this may be a great idea for you.
